In the past our ISP has hosted our e-mail. But, now that we have a new SBS2003 we want to use Exchange to host our own e-mail. Our ISP said they updated the MX records and they gave me a new IP address that they said was for the Exchange server. I ran thru the CEIW and enabled internet mail, selected to use DNS, and entered our domain name. But, it doesn't ask for this new IP address anywhere. Where does this get entered so that e-mail works? How do I set this up? As you can tell I am very new to Exchange, but I really need to get this setup. Thanks for any and all help you can provide.

FYI: We have 2 NIC's on the server, one for an internal network and one that connects to a DSL modem from our ISP.

Thanks,
Mike

The IP they gave you for the Exchange server should now be a static IP from your DSL modem. Go to Whatismyip.com from your Browser and confirm that. If it is not then get back with your ISP because If the mail is going to an IP that MUST be the IP of your DSL connection

Ooops - Forgot. Once that is correct rerun CEICW and setup Exchange to receive Mail SMTP and you should begin to receive mail

Ok, thanks for the help. So, if my modem has an IP address of xxx.xxx.xxx.xx then that is what they should also update our MX record with instead of the new static IP address they just gave me, right? That would also mean that my NIC card that connects to the modem would have the same IP address, right? So, I should call our ISP and try to straighten this out. Thanks again!!

Almost If you have a router between your DSL modem and your External NIC it will give a Private IP of something like 192.168.1.1 or 0.1 and the Public IP will be what the DSL Modem gives the router on Connect. If the DSL modem connects directly to the NIC then yes the IP of the NIC is your Public IP.Some ISPs are giving Sticky IPs requiring PPPoE to login but always returning the same IP (Bellsouth does that) which is not exactly the same as Static but works the same for you except that if PPPoE is required you should use a router to insure that a connection is maintained during server restarts.
