Hey All,

Running SBS2003R2 and all is going (reasonably) well.  Just found out that ntbackup isn't clearing the exchange logs after a full backup.  It's running the default SBS2003 backup (everything) to tape nightly.  Logs are definately being backed up, just not flushed.

Maybe related, but Removable Storage Service keeps stopping for no reason, so I've added a scheduled task to start it 10mins before backup.

Any clues?

It seemes that the default SBS backup didn't flush the logs.  It could have been because I'm moved the logs to a different drive, but I never figured it out.

I manually created an ntbackup script that did the same as the built in backup, and that solved it.

I now use Backup Assist on that server, which I've found to be very useful.

Hi Drew,

SBS Backup does flush the Exchange logs. Even when the logs have been moved to a different drive or partition.
