Hello all,

Within our company we are responsible for several brands - some of which have their own websites and email domains. We use Exchange for our main company web domain and users and maintain like an info@xxx or customer services type email address for the specific brands - which is usually via a pop3 connector.

We currently have a customer servcices mailbox for our company which is accessed by several users who have "send AS" permissions (configured as per the www.msexchange.org/tutorials/Sending-As.html tutorial)

What I dont want to do is create mailboxes for each brand email domain So i have created public folders for these and designated exchange names to these so that we can send as that - once again as per the msexchange.org "sending as" tutorial.  ( For the non company domain names i have unchecked "automatically update email addresses based on recipient policy" to ensure that the brand domain stay as primary smtp and not overridden by a company wide SBS domain).

However, what i have found is that these Public Folder mailbox names do not appear in the address book and therefore are not receiveing any emails from the pop3 connector - it just does not display the public folder name as a recipient address.

IF i create a distribution list then the name of the distribution list does appear as a valid exchange mailbox/name in the address book and i able to archive those messages by means of public folder, however, We would prefer to have the emails go to a specific store and be dealt with "helpdesk style" as opposed to received by all the persons individually and be maintaining an archive (which serves lesser use).

Is this normal behavior for Public Folder Exchange names - and if so why does it even bother to have a check mark saying "hide from exchange address lists" as it is not showing up there whether we tick the check mark or not.

Those Public folders should appear in your address list but if your clients use Exchange Offline it can take awhile before you will see them.
