Hello,
I am haviung trouble with a distribution group.
I can email the distribution group trading@xxxxxxx.com and all the included members can get the email sent to the group. however, I cannot add new members to the group because it does not show up in any of the distribution group lists. It is almost as if it is hidden.
I did a search for the group and still nothing comes up.
Is there a way to track it down?

Khalid,
Can you try this:
To unhide and then hide the membership of a distribution list, follow these steps.
| 1. |
Start Active Directory Users and Computers. |
| 2. |
Right-click the distribution list that you want, and then click Exchange Tasks. |
| 3. |
Click Next, click Unhide Membership, and then click Next. |
| 4. |
Click Next, and then click Finish. |
| 5. |
Right-click the distribution list that you selected in step 2, and then click Exchange Tasks. |
| 6. |
Click Next, click Hide Membership, and then click Next. |
| 7. |
Click Next, and then click Finish. |

Thanks for your reply....
However, it is the actual distribution group that I cannot find. It's not the membership list that is hidden, it's the entire distribution group thaqt is hidden.

No, there does not seem to be any RUS errors.....
Would manually updating the RUS help in anyway? Although I did maulally update the RUS many times and the group still did not show up.

| The only way I know you can unhide it is to use ADSI edit. If you know how to use that you can try that but if you have never used it you will be overwhelmed with the possibilities of that tool.

Well, ADSI Edit is the most powerfull tool for editting your AD.
What we need to do is that we set the attribute of that Distribution Group but I cannot find any attribute that can hide the distribution list itself. I can only find how to hide the membership but that is not what you want.
How made that Distribution Group on your server?

What di you mean "How made.....?"
Well, I cannot tell you who made the list, but I am guessing someone deleted the list, but it still works somehow.....
Beats me...

| I meant "who made the group". Now that is strange. You don't know who made it and also you don't know who deleted it. How can that happen?
