Hi,
We are having one or two email issues currently and I wondered if anyone could point me in the right direction?

The majority of external email coming through for some reason now ends up in the junk folder, I have not touched any of the AVG anti spam settings but it started happening around 2 weeks ago - not sure if an AVG update has caused this or not?

Also some domains when sending to us are receiving delivery failure notifications - needless to say the emails are not getting to the intended mailbox - I can send from a personal account and receive with no problems it just seems to be an issue with one or two external domains - any ideas?

I have tried moving the anti-spam slider to less agressive just in case the 2 problems are linked, this has no effect on the emails which are bouncing - I thought it might be somthing to do with storage limits but then why would it allow me to send from a personal account.

The domain(s) in question do not have any issues sending to anyone else.

ANy help much appreciated - it's driving me mad!!

I had a similar problem pop up out of the blue.  It was caused by the Microsoft Intelligent Message Filtering (IMF).  To Check the settings:
  1. Open Server Mgmt Advanced Mgmt section
  2. Open Global Settings folder in the Exchange section
  3. Right Click on Message Delivery & select Properties
  4. Select the Intelligent Message Filtering tab
You can configure the filter for both the Gateway & Junk E-mail folders.  A higher SCL rating is less restrictive.  For my setup I had to set the Gateway to 9 which is the least restrictive.  I set Junk E-mail to 5.  This setting prevented the email bounces & put most of the spam in the users Junk E-mail folder.  I believe there is a way to whitelist email addresses in the (IMF) settings, but I don't think you can do it from the GUI interface.
