new SBS server, have one person that has to use use pop/smtp for a while from outside.
pop is working fine, but when ever they try to send to anyone outside the domain they get the error:

The following recipient(s) cannot be reached:
      'x@otherdomain.com' on 20/07/2008 9:59 a.m.
            530 5.7.1 Relaying not permitted: x@otherdomain.com

I tried authenticating first in the mail setup with no success.
I check the relay in the smtp connector and checked the checkbox to allow anyone authenticated to relay.

What am I missing?

Thanks for your help!

You could just set up the smtp as your servername and use your SBS to relay the mail.

Instead of setting up your server to be a relay....setup Outlook to work with Exchange over Internet....That way you don't have to use POP3 and the person doesn't need a VPN connection either....

I have all my mobile users setup for that....
