Hi All,

I have what I hope is a simple question:

My client wants to chamge the outgong and reply E-mail address from their username to something else. For example: change email received from caroline (caroline@domain.com) to administration. I have created a new SMTP address (in username -> email addresses) and set it as the primary but this does not appear to work.

When using a POP3 account, you simply set it up in outlook. We are using DNS to route E-mail. Everyhting else is working fine but they would like this set up and I am at a loss.

Thanks for your time and help, Rob

Add the new account to that users Outlook. The user will have a new button, "Account" below the "Send" button. Choose the new Profile and send the message.

Hi Rob,

If you want the 'administration' email address to be the primary one, uncheck the box 'automatic update recipient policy'.

Hi Guys,

Firstly, thanks for your replies. Sorry for taking so long to reply but ai have been flat out (as we all are!!!) Anyway, I guess I was a little tired when I posted my initial message. I feel that I should clarify it as it doesn't really explain what I would like to do. And I believe that I may have found the answer. Here goes again...

When the admin lady sends her E-mail, at the other end, it appears to have been sent from:

Caroline [carolineb@domain.com]

I would like to change it to appear as follows:

Administration [carolineb@domain.com]

I have since found that if I change the display name (server management -> users -> username -> general tab) to what I require, this will reflect the change as required.

At this stage, it appears to be working well (her name still appears unchanged in the internal mail list) and the E-mails appear to be sent from 'Administration'

Once again, thanks for your time.

Rob.

Hi, back again!!!

It actually turns out that they want an additional Email address linked to the original one. Example:

The original Email addres is CarolineB@domain.com They actually want Email to be sent from admin@domain.com Is this simply a case of adding an additional Email address in ADUC and linking it to the original account (i.e. create admin@domain.com and link it to CarolineB@domain.com)? If so, they want the Email sent to be from admin@domain.com yet be collected in the other account. How is this possible (or is it possible at all?).

Thanks again for your help.

Rob

Hi Rob,

If you want Caroline to send email as admin, simply add that admin email address to her User properties and set it to primary and uncheck the 'update recipient policy' box. Caroline will then always receive the admin email and send as admin.
