Hi

Server = sbs2k3 std
clients = various outlook clients

getting multiple (in the 1,000's) NDR reports and the like. it's causing untold hassles for the users.

the problem is that they've obviously spoofed legitimate email addresses. If anyone can point me to a way of removing these before they clog up the inboxes i'd really appreciate it.

Thanks

Barry

Hi Barry,

Are you retrieving email with SMTP? If yes, are  you using the IMF filter that is built in Exchange? Are you using any third party anti-virus and/or anti-spam program?

Hi Marina,
yes email retrieval is via SMTP.
IMF is on
Recipient Filtering is on

3rd party anti virus
No 3rd party anti spam (currently looking at AVG for both - would appreciate comments)

problem is that the users regularly email a membership database which is where i assume one of those systems has been compromised.

Any help would be most welcome

Barry

Hi Barry,

With SCL 5 there will hardly go anything in the Junk folder. Set it to 2.
