Set the external nic to a static ip first. I recall my ISA 2004 complaining about a dynamic ip.
You never set an isp dns number in a nic on your SBS. You set both the internal nic and the external nic dns to point to your internal nic ip for dns. ISP dns numbers are entered as forwarders using the connect to internet wizard or manually in DNS. Use the wizard though.
Your external nic should be 192.168.0.2, sn 255.255.255.0, gw 192.168.0.1, dns 192.168.16.2 This assumes that your router ip is 192.168.0.1
Your internal nic and your external nics have to be on different networks. A typical SBS has it's network and 192.168.16.x. So your typical SBS has an internal ip of 192.168.16.2. The external nic ip is what is appropriate for your router.
We start troubleshooting with an ipconfig/all from the command prompt if you do not follow or understand what I am saying. The article should be fairly clear though. |
