We have just upgraded our server and installed SBS 2003 and ISA 2004 (with Sp2)
When i run the server/connectcomputer wizard to attach the client workstations it does not install the firewall client for ISA2004 and there is no \\server\mspclnt share on the server to install the firewall client manually.

Any ideas what happened to the firewall client installation?

Hi Belinda,

From what CD's did you install ISA? Is that the official SBS 2003 Premium Technologies CD?

I installed it from an official MSDN version of ISA 2004.

Hi Belinda,

That doesn't have the special SBS installer. You will need to remove this version and get the ISA 2004 from the SBS 2003 SP1 upgrade CD's which you have to order.

Why would it not be installed if it's needed? I have the SBS 2003 CD's included with our hardware from HP but it doesn't include ISA2004. We are a certified partner (MS) so we are allowed to use the MSDN versions instead of having to buy them, can I get the extra add-on from another version?
I installed ISA Standard, should i have installed iSA Enterprise?

Hi Belinda,

Because the Standard ISA 2004 doesn't have the SBS integrated install. You will really need the SBS SP1 upgrade CD's to get the SBS ISA installer. Only that one integrates into SBS and also integrates in the CEICW.

Hi Belinda,

No, it is on the Premium Technologies CD where you will also find SQL 2000 server.

Belinda,

Your are not allowed to use software from MSDN in a production environment!

Hi Mariette,

Yes i am aware of that. We previously used SBS2003 with ISA2000 which we have licensing for. I've installed ISA2004 to see if we are going to upgrade to this product. So far we've had alot of problems with it. If we decide to continue to use it then we will upgrade our licensing for ISA 2004 otherwise I will be uninstalling and putting ISA2000 back on as per our previous setup on our old server.

Thanks for the tip though.

Belinda
