When you run the CEICW and you select to disable or enable the firewall where are the changes made in ISA 2004?
I want to know the last setting before I run the CEICW. In ISA 2000 it set or unset packet filtering.

Maybe it is easier to make a backup of all settings before you run the CEICW. Disabling the firewall is not an option IMHO.

Thanks Mariette for your reply

I was interested to know the settings that change in ISA 2004
In ISA 2000 you can see the setting in
IP Packet Filters Properties “Enable Packet Filters” check box

I did find in SBS 2003 a registry setting that shows the last setting

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\SmallBusinessServer\Connectivity\ICW
Last_Firewall_Selection = 1 or 0

But I am still curious to find out what changes in ISA 2004 when looking at the rules I can’t see any that change.
This all started when I was called to a client’s server and I’m sure that someone had disabled the firewall to get an application to work.
If you just run the CEICW you can’t see the last setting.

Thanks Barry

Hi Barry,

The icwlog.txt file in \program files\microsoft windows small business server\support will have all the details.
