When we try to install ISA 2004 on to SBS it won't install due to Windows Server SP2 installed...
Any suggestions....?
This is a new site and they have SBS Prem but no ISA installed, they wish to limit internet access.

no sorry I can't we inherated this server we didn't install it. It was installed in 2005 we can tell that from systeminfo.
We didn't really think it would be an issue install ISA 2004, looking at the release history from the offical SBS blog it would of come with ISA 2000, but it shouldn't be an issue installing ISA 2004 as it was avaible via a free update from Microsoft when it was first released.

i think there is an issue with ISA 2004 only being able to be applied to sbs sp1, and i dont think you can apply sp1 after sp2. it is such a delicate subject (as it can stuff everything up) i would really like to see an offical, step by step, apply this service pack, then this one, then this one, kind of guide. it seems to me that a lot of important stuff, is almost left to trial and error, and in the end it is the less experienced people who suffer! jesus, look at me ranting... |
