I notice that the only way for clients to send files through FTP is if the administrator un-checks the 'read-only' option under 'Configure FTP' when right clicking on the 'SBS Internet Access Rule'.

Is there another way to do this?

Is this safe to do?  If it is not, why?

If it's not recommended how would clients gain FTP write access??

Hi E,

Yes, if you have ISA 2004 on the server you need to uncheck the Read only for the FTP properties of that rule.
