I have installed sharepoint WSS 2007 on a seperate server running windows 2003 SE on the root website.  I have ISA 2004 installed on my small business 2003 server.  I would like to have access to the sharepoint site outside of the network.  The site works fine internally and I tried to create a listener and the appropriate rule in ISA, but have not been successful.

I have set up the following rule:

Actions to take: Allow
From: Anywhere
to: Name_of_internal_server.mydomain   I am forwarding the original host header instead of the acutual one.  Requests appear to come from the original client
traffic:  https
listener:  Sharepoint 2007
Link Translation:  replace absolute links in web pages
Schedule: Always
Users:  All Users
Bridging:  Webserver- redirect requests to HTTP port and redirect requests to SSL port are both checked.
Paths:  /*
Public Name: ISA_Server_Name.mydns

My listener is set up as follows:
Name:  Sharepoint 2007
Ports(http:)disabled
Port(https) : 440
certificate:  servername.domain
authentication methods: integrated
always authenticate: NO

When I try typing in the URL, the page can't be found.  I type in https://servername.domain:440
I am not an expert in ISA 2004 and I would appreciate any assistance on getting this going.

Try using Port 444, which is the port that Sharepoint operates on.....unless things changed to 2007...

I tried doing that, and I get the following error when I try to open the page in the browser:

The page cannot be displayed
Explanation: The Web server refused the connection, possibly because a service on the upstream server is inactive.

Try the following:

* Refresh page: Search for the page again by clicking the Refresh button. The timeout may have occurred due to Internet congestion.
* Check spelling: Check that you typed the Web page address correctly. The address may have been mistyped.
* Access from a link: If there is a link to the page you are looking for, try accessing the page from that link.
* Contact website: You may want to contact the website administrator to make sure the Web page still exists. You can do this by using the e-mail address or phone number listed on the website home page.

Technical Information (for support personnel)

* Error Code 10061: Connection refused
* Background: When the gateway or proxy server contacted the upstream (Web) server, the connection was refused. This usually results from trying to connect to a service that is inactive on the upstream server.

Alright, now when I type in the url, I am prompted for a user name and password.  I enter the appropriate information and it takes me to my internal sharepoint site that is located on a different server.  But it displays that the page cannot be found.  The internal address looks correct though.  I think its a problem with the translation.

I also edited the alternate access mappings in sharepoint services to be as follows

As I'm sure you can guess, the last row is for the central administration page in sharepoint.  Please any help would be greatly appreciated!!!

I got this working, it was due to an issue in the ISA rules- in the to tab, I needed to have just the sharepoint server name and not the sharepointserver.domainname.
