Running SBS2003 With ISA2000

I need to come up with a method for removing the client and any proxy configurations for each of the machines on the network (Around 50Pc's).  Once that is done, I need to effectively and decommission ISA the server.Any good Ideas for a noob??
Regards
Rican

Here's how I would tackle this one:

1. Document any and all settings in the ISA 2000. All the rules and client side settings also. You can always enable these type settings in your group policy before you uninstall ISA, but if you lose these listings of open ports and program exclusions and then duninstall isa you will pay hell trying to get things to work again.

2. Research everywhere you can about the correct procedures and order in which to do the uninstalls. Without doing this myself and re-researching this (although I did go thru this several times a couple a of years ago) here is what I remember:
a. uninstall the clients first. I seem to remember that if you uninstall the isa first then the client uninstall boggs down trying to locate isa. check this link:  http://www.smallbizserver.net/tabid/53/forumid/53/postid/45459/view/topic/Default.aspx. You can manually do the uninstall on all 50 clients, using control panel add-remove programs, visiting each machine to do so, although there may be some way to do this thru group policy. check out this link: http://www.eggheadcafe.com/aspnet_answers/isaclients/May2006/post26868212.asp, and this one: http://isainsbs.blogspot.com/2006/10/updated-firewall-client-available.html

b. stop all isa services. stop the firewall service. stop the msde instance of isa. then uninstall the mdse instance for isa. I remember that one time I tried doing this later in the order of things and it would not uninstall, after isa was uninstalled, so I would uninstall the msde before uninstalling isa.

c. uninstall the service packs in reverse order and finally uninstall isa itself.

d. You will probably also have to change some settings in the IE on the clients and server, in the proxy area, eliminating the references to the proxy there.

good luck with it
