Hello,
I am wondering if ISA's proxy can run on a different port without ANY trouble. This must be configured at the installation stage. Here's why: My RAID controller is a Promise EX8350, the software service that keeps an eye on my drives is called WebPAM. It's got it's own web server built in, and it runs on port 8080. This obviously conflicts with ISA's default proxy server as it also runs on port 8080. I looked all over in the WebPAM settings and manuals...no change-of-port options. I called Promise tech support, they said it's coded into the web server, there's no changing it. They obviously didn't think when the chose port for the (hard coded) webserver. So I am left with one option, that is to change the default proxy port on the ISA server. Can I do this at the installation stage? Does anyone have any other suggestions for alternate options? I think I'm SOL if I can't change the proxy port.

Thanks in advance,
Alex S.

Alex,

To change the 8080 port to another port please do the following:
  1. Open ISA Management console
  2. go to configuration then networks
  3. select Internal and double click on it
  4. go to web proxy tab and change the port as you want
  5. make sure that the new port is not used
  6. Save the changes and restart the service

Mariette,
Thanks so you much for your reply. What I ended up doing is calling Promise back, asking the same exact question. This time, the person on the other end knew exactly what I was talking about. He said that I could reinstall WebPAM and use only an SSL port instead of 8080. ISA is installed and working perfectly. ISA Firewall Client has been preconfigured and pushed to all client systems. Thanks!
