Hi,

I need to allow port 80 to all computers on our internal network. Currently, if you try to access the internal website housed on one client, we receive the Network Access Message from ISA. Error 10060: Connection timeout.

I tried checking the 'Bypass proxy server for local addresses checkbox in Internet Options/Lan Settings on each client.

I also tried adding a new rule to ISA 2004, Allow 'HTTP' (port80) from 'localhost' to 'internal.' I applied the rule but we still receive the proxy error.

I just need for any internal client to talk to any other internal client on our network on port 80 but ISA is blocking it. It has to be easy but i cant figure it out.

Frustrated...

Thank you,

Chris

Chris,

Can you be more specific about the layout of your network? Where is that site located? I do think this has nothing to do with ISA but more with DNS.

Sure.

I have a very simple network config with 2 nics on the SBS. All internal clients are on the same network/subnet. The client in question is sysadm1 - 10.10.1.20. When any other 10.10.1.x client tries to access that website on port 80 the proxy error pops up. However, on the same client I also installed Spiceworks network monitoring software. You also use a web browser to work with it on other client computers. It is set to port 9679. When you point any other client's browser to http://sysadm1:9679, it works fine. Its just port 80 where the problem is.

Thanks,

Chris

SBS = 10.10.1.1 internally.
Symantec server is an xp box = 10.10.1.20 dhcp reserved
any other client = 10.10.1.x

Trying to access the webserver on the xp box 10.10.1.20 from any client ie, 10.10.1.35 for instance receives the proxy error from the isa server. If I browse to localhost on the 10.10.1.20 box it does bring up the xp pro webserver config page so the site is active. I found in the isa logs that it is the SBS Protected Networks rule that is blocking the connection but I don't know what to change/add to the rule to make it work.

Currently, that rule says Allow all outbound traffic from All protected networks to All protected networks with all users of all content types.

Thanks,

Chris
