Hi There,

Can anyone explain why if I have a mapped drive mapped to a local folder (i.e. mapped to myself) on a 2000sbs it fails when I try to copy files either from it or to it half way through...?

If I use the unc format, use the physical drives ie C: or E: or drag & drop it works fine.

We have a need to use this local mapped drive...

Any ideas...?

TIA

No.. I hunted high & low but despite posting this on serveral sites we could not resolve it. In the end we got the s/w developer to alter the software. Oddly enough the problem did  not present itself on a shared XP Pro box. We tried it on a couple of 2000 boxes but with the same problem. We did not try on a 2003. Also the problem only shows itself if you are copying a large number of files.
