I have a client that I have recently picked up. They have SBS 2000 installed by someone else. They have been having a number of problems with email, mainly that it does not get sent to outlook. They are using the POP3 connector to pull email from one global email box, and then exchnge distributes it to the correct place. This was apparently working fine for years and then suddenly stopped.

It looks like exchange is puilling the email from the POP3 server (if we look at the pop3 mail box with webmail) we can see that all the emails have been downloaded, but for some reason exchange is not distributing them into the relevant users  outlook accounts.   So the question is, wehre is the email being stored and why is email not being displayed in outlook.

They are using Exchange 2000 (SBS 2000) and Outlook 2003

Any help would be much appreciated.

Just had another chat with the client, and it seems tht when a email bounces, the bounce report makes it way back to the person who sent it from their email box. Which means that somehow the server does know about how to send the emails to the users, but its not happening in this instance

Hi Chris,

You will have to turn up the logging on the pop3 connector and watch the eventlogs.
