I have an existing site that is running sbs2000.  I would like to hold off updating the SBS2000 server till later this year - however, I need an application server.  Can I add a 2008 server to the SBS2K domain?

You sure can you just need to run /adprep and /forestprep to update the Schema to include the 2008 attributes.
