I'll be trying to add a new vista pc to my SBS2003 Premium network over the weekend. Any advice please?

You cannot use the Windows SBS 2003 client deployment tools to join a Windows Vista-based computer to a Windows SBS network: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/926505

We have joined the branch office to our SBS 2003 Headquarters and have the same user experience on the branch office as we have on our local  network at the Headquarters. Want to know how? Following Mariette's link, I was able to connect to the SBS2003 server.

However every boot I get an error from the Program Compatibility Assistant:
\\servername\setup\setup.exe in incommpatible.

I am getting this on two Vista computers connected & seemingly working fine on an SBS2003 Premium domain.

Another issue is printer sharing. I have 2 Canon inkjet printers connected via USB to my own pc. I share these printers using printer sharing. However each time I attempt to connect to the shared printer from another pc, my pc seems to get a network card failure & will reboot itself. I then have to repair the network connection.

Is it the Vista machine that is re-booting where the printers are attached?
Are you using the latest drivers for both the printers and network cards?

Hi Jack

Yes, it is the Vista pc where the printers are connected is the one which is crashing. I have the "latest" Canon drivers, although the printers are a year or two old. I first tried my MP780 & installed drivers from the Canon site. after testing & the printer sharing crashing, I also then connected my i950 which seemed to install drivers direct from within Vista. The nic drivers are the latest from the Intel web site.

I tested the crash again. While I am installing the shared printer from the other Vista pc, my own pc will get a message Host process for Windows Services stopped working & was closed. Then over a minute, progressively crashes the nic, graphics card, then the pc crashes. On reboot, my mouse usually does not work & I have to reboot again. I also have an issue with the ATI graphics card Catalyst Control Centre which may or may not be relevant.
