Hi,

Installed Vista on my PC, used the new Vista friendly connectcomputer wizard but I find that I am unable to open any files on the SBS shares or connect to printers.

My XP machine is still happy as larry.

Obviously, not being able to open files or connect to printers is a problem.

Can anyone help?

Thanks,
Joe

You might check to see if Network Discovery is enabled on the Vista computer.

Hi Stan,

Switched on Network Discovery and all the other Network services listed there, but to no effect.

To describe the problem better:

When I drag and drop a file from a network share to my desktop I get the an error message saying:

Destination Folder Access Denied
You Need Permission to Perform this Action.

I can browse all network shares as expected, and the file transfers over the network to my PC but fails to write to my local drive.

Also, when I try to connect to network printers it starts to download the driver from the print server but fails to install on my PC.

Can't work this one out.

Joe

Hi All,

Found the cause of the problem.  Kaspersky AV iStream is changing properties of the file on the server and Vista doesn't like it.

Cheers,
Joe
