SBS2003 Premium, WSUS SP1

I have just had to rebuild my Vista computer after a problem using an anti-spyware program. I deleted the partition & ran a clean "upgrade" install using a method I used previously. Before I did this, I deleted the computer account from the server & also from WSUS.

I then set up the computer fresh in the SBS add computer wizard using the method described in KB926505. I used the same computer name as previously. The installation went fine & I can connect to the server & access all server resources.

Checking WSUS, my computer is listed, but shown as not yet reported it's status. The new computer build was finished late last night. How long should it take before reporting? I am concerned about updates.

Hey Nick,

The way I understand the system, that happens when everything "synchronizes".  You may have a schedule set for that and it missed the first schedule due to not having shown up yet.  You can always synch manually at any time by clicking on the "Synchronize Now" blue link on the Home page of WSUS.

OK thanks Stewart

I have the sync set for 3am, I'll manually run one now.

Just now, the Vista pc installed 7 updates. I'm not sure whether those came from WSUS of direct from MS, although I suspect they were from MS.

There are some known issues with WSUS2.x and Vista. It should be solved in the next version.. Or MS is gonna publish a hotfix..

Vista has reported the status to WSUS this morning, so it looks ok now.
