Hi all.  I currently have SBS2003 R2 with SBS SP1 and Server 2003 SP1 installed.  I have a combination of XP and Vista as client workstations.  Prior to working with SBS, I was using plain old Server 2003.  Following those practices, I joined my clients to the domain without going through /connectcomputer.  After joining the machine to the domain, the CTRL + ALT + DELETE prompt takes time to appear.  In Vista, the "Please wait..." message stays visible for a good 20 seconds, and in XP, "Preparing Network Connections" & "Applying Computer Settings" are visible.  Once these go away, I am able to log in.  I re-joined the machines to the domain using the proper SBS way (/connectcomputer) and still have the same problem.  On a normal Server 2003 domain, this did not happen.  Is anyone else experiencing this or is this normal with SBS?

Here is a copy of ipconfig /all if anyone wants to take a look at it:

Hi Aaron,

Did you apply the Vista / Office 2007 update on the SBS server yet? Can we get the ipconfig of the server too please?

->Teredo Tunneling Pseudo-Interface<- I think you are going to have to remove this from the client. I've seen this cause problems before.

Thanks for all the replies everyone.  I disabled that interface, but I still have the issue.  I just upgraded to SP2 for Server 2003, and that didn't help either.

Hi Aaron,

Yes, but that is hardly readable and it has the pseudo adapter. Please post a fresh one.

Just an update on this...

I've discovered it's one of the services that's slowing my clients down.  After disabling all of them, the CRTL ALT DELETE prompt comes up right away.  I turned them all back so I can uncheck one at a time to see which is the culprit.

Ok.  After looking at the services, if "netlogon" and "network location awareness" are unchecked, I get to the logon screen right away.  As soon as I check either one of those, it goes back to "please wait...".  I need to have the network location awareness service on for laptops, so I'm going to have to dig a bit deeper into this service and see what it all entails.

Hi Aaron,

The last ipconfig was still showing those Pseudo Tunnel adapters. Can you also uncheck the TCP/IP6 protocol?

vista installs the adapters no matter what(the psuedo ones).  I do have to agree go into the network connection properties and disable anything that has ipv6 in it..
