Hi,

Trying to get a Vista machine (business edition) to logon to a domain using a vpn connection.

I have added the patches to the SBS server 2003 R2 and added the vista client via connectcomputer to the domain.

The client seems perfect when logging on in the office.

When the user is remote, he wants to connect using vpn by "ticking the box" as per the old XP way.

The VPN connection I have added works fine and belongs to the system account so that it is visible to all users on the laptop.

However I can't get the connection to show on the login screen. I have Googled around and found references to the PLAP that appears on the bottom RHS of the login screen - except it doesn't

Anyone else come across this? Is there something in group policy preventing it from showing?

Thanks

Julian

Hi Julian,

As I haven't got a Vista machine that would need VPN with the dial up box checked, I can't see I have seen this working. But then again, I haven't looked for it, because I don't have such a machine.

Looking for this problem too, I found the solution on antother website:
Quote "After pressing CTRL ALT DEL to open the login screen, press "Switch User".
At that point another icon (blue computer) will appear at the bottom right of the screen. Click that and your dialup or VPN connections will appear.
Choose the one you want to use and logon with that connection. After that logon normally."

Have fun ...
Jacques.
