Hi, we have a client with a vista laptop, for some reason the laptop as lost the connection to the server so we have to de-join it from the network and re-join it.

My problem is under Windows XP you used to be able to rename the profile, de-join it then re-join the pc to the domain and put the profile back in place, how do you do that under Windows Vista without loosing the profile ?

TIA

Roger.

Can you use the Windows Transfer Wizard in the System Tool Folder in the Accessories Folder? It works like the File Transfer Wizard of XP. After you have re-joined the Vista PC you rerun that wizard and restore the profile.
