I have a somewhat strange issue.

I have added three Vista Laptops to my SBS 2003 network.

The laptops work perfectly....apart from they can't access internet!

Further investigation reveals that on the network card it states "Access - Local Only" I can access exchange etc, but not the internet, any ideas?

It's a SBS 2003 Standard server with one NIC. DHCP is enabled on the server. The laptops are picking up the correct IP settings from DHCP

We have two Client desktops, running XP Pro, working without issue.

I tried a NS lookup on the laptops and that timed out..

I got these laptops for some of the users which worked away from the office quite abit. I bought three of these laptops for users who were in and out of the office abit.

One of the laptops running Vista actually works OK. It's just the other two which don't. I am totally confused as the laptops are all the same HP 6720S models, all with the same drivers on etc.

I even thought about rebuilding them all with XP, but HP haven't released XP drivers for this laptop (can you believe that?!)

So, at the moment I have a couple of laptops which just aren't seeing the network.

Tried searching online and can't find anything related to this issue with Vista

Yes, the two joined the domain without issue. You wouldn't know there was a problem until you try to access internet. I have attached an ipconfig/ all from server below.

on the vista clients go into the network and sharing center - you should see somthing like:

client name - network - internet

somewhere on the page it will say view full map, this will show you a brief topology of your network.

also if you right click the LAN icon in the system tray and click diagnose and repair - it may offer some info on why you cant access the net.

Also are these wired or wireless clients?

isn't there something in vista about whether it's a public or private network? or is that just for network sharing capabilities.
