Dear users,
 
I'm using Windows 2003 server and a laptop with Windows Vista. When i run the 'set up client computers'. Everything is going fine. But when i have to go to http://server/ConnectComputer i'm getting on the end the error: "An error occured when configuring networking settings. See your network administrator."

I hope you can help me. I can ping from en to the server. I'm using 2 NIC's. 1 For my internet connection and the other one is connected on my network, with DCHP enable with windows 2003 server. I hope you've got enough information.

Try with a wired connection instead of the wireless connection you use now.

I've got the same problem with an other computer with Windows XP Pro. So i think there is something wrong with the settings of my server.

- disable other networkcards (2nd lan card or wireless lan card)
- run IE as administrator, how ? right click on IE in your taskbar en select "run as administrator"
- then connect to your sbs: https://server/connectcomputer.

I'm now getting an onther error. He is saying: "Make sure that only one network adapter is enabled and that it is connected to the Small Business Server." I have disabled all the networkadapters (except one, and that one is connected to my Small Business Server.) So, still no luck.

update: disregard the last message. But with IE running als Admin, all other networkadapters disabled i still get the same message.

Your ipconfig doesn't look right to me. On the Network Connection NIC, the DHCP and DNS IPs should be piointing to 192.168.2.1 and the Primary WINS server on the local NIC should be pointing there also. Make those changes, re-run CEICW and try to join again.

The server's ipconfig is still not good.
Why is the external nic on DHCP? Make it static.
Where does the dns suffix lokaal come from? It seems you have a so called single label DNS domain name, in stead of the preferred domain.local, which is causing a lot of problems.
The external nic needs pointing to the internal IP for DNS.
If this is a new server install, I would start from scratch and do it right.
