Hi, Our std ed SBS2003 has no service packs currently installed. Not sure if I should start with SP1 or jump straight to SP2 ?

You should apply SP1 first. Then apply Exchange sp2, then SharePoint SP3. When that is all running smooth, apply Windows Server SP2

I've actually had no trouble taking the OS straight to SP2 then applying SBS SP1. Just have to install SBS SP1 immediately after installing SP2, and turning off all the Receive-Side Scaling nonsense that SP2 puts in. I've got a couple of posts related to SP2 installation:

Hi Craig,
If this SBS is RTM, it doesn't have SBS 2003 SP1 on it. You would need to install W2k3 SP1, Exchange SP2, Sharepoint SP3, the XP SP2 deployment then the SBS 2003 SP1. Then you can install the W2k3 SP2.

Ok, cheers for that advice. On reading the notes etc, Outlook2003 needs to be installed in clientapps? which it isnt. We are using 2007 so can I skip\ignore the error msgs or is this going to cause probs with the SPs. Im am not sure how this gets installed anyway. Reading another post advises using add\remove programs then modify components, but on looking couldnt see anything ??

Hi Craig,
You install outlook 2003 by running the SBS Setup, put it in Maintenance mode and checkmark the client applications for Outlook. Only then the SBS 2003 SP1 won't fail.
