When performing NTBackup or the CertServ backup, I get the following errors in the event log:
certsrv.exe (1072) The database engine could not access the file called C:\WINNT\system32\CertLog\Falcon Certificates.pat.
certsrv.exe (1072) Unable to write a shadowed header for file C:\WINNT\system32\CertLog\Falcon Certificates.pat.

And sure enough there isn't a file called Falcon Certificates.pat or any other .pat file.  Does anyone know what the pat file is and how to fix the problem?

Thanks.

Forgot some info:  I'm on SBS2000 with the latest service packs and I use the certificate server for OWA.  So I can't uninstall the service.

Maybe you can exclude the CertLog folder but it is better to upgrade to SBS 2003.

I can't exclude that folder because it's part of the System State backup.  Sorry I forgot to mention that.  I am planning on going to SBS 2003 but not for a month or so.  In the mean time I'd like to get a good System State backup done.

Thanks.

Paul,

I can't help you on this. I searched for solutions but it seems to lead to a dead end. If you find a fix let us know.
