Hello,
Im looking for a way that I can backup multiple SBS servers remotely. Is this possible using something such as backup exec (or similar) and remote agents? and does anyone have any experience in doing this?
any help appreciated

Hi Tom,
I wanted to do this using data protection manager - and even emailed microsoft explaining the idea and reasons why i think it would be a success, aparently it has been passed on to the relevant teams.
perhaps this feature will turn up in sbs 3000....
id be interested to hear if you get this working with backup exec.
although i can see some potential problems.
as i understand it, backup exec 11d sbs edition, contains all the relevant plugins for exchange, sql etc. but this is not a remote agent, the remote agents are for other servers to report to the main box.
maybe there is a way of tweaking it so that the sbs edition could act as a remote agent...
we use an offsite backup facility which does include plugins for exchange and sql, as well the usual systemstate etc. it backs up online, to two locations (mirrored) fully encrypted etc etc, but its quite expensive, £5 a gb plus £30 for the server license, and thats every month. so a full server backup is really not an option with this service, unless you have money to burn that is ;-)

I've heard good things about Sonicwall CDP boxes.
You'd need a sonicwall box at each site, then one at your head office.
