Hi
I am just trying to set up a new ML350 and decided to see the beast before I ordered extra parts. There are two NIC ports on the back but one is marked with the normal network sign and the other seems to be iLO2.
Will I  be able to use the iLO2 port as my second NIC for an SBS2003 installation? I have a hunch the answer is no but want to check first.
I am loath to get a PCI-Express network card if I don't need to! Too much Scottish blood in me!!
Thanks

no ILO is for remote access even if the machine is turned off(think of it as an ip based main console..not the winodws console the actual machine console). I would take a closer lok that level of server should have two gigabit nics and one ilo at the minimum.

Thanks William - that was really helpful but there are quite definitely the two, of which one is now clearly not for the funtion I wish.
Looks like it is back to the supplier for a PCI-Express NIC card.
Best wishes

Malcolm
