I am a newbie with SBS 2003 and I had some issues with joining workstations to a domain and I was advised to run BPA. I have one critical error that I am not sure how to resolve. BPA states ,"Three or more network adapter cards are detected on this server. This is not a supported configuration and will cause Configure E-mail and Internet Connection Wizard to fail. Windows SBS 2003 supports only one or two network adapters.". I physical only have 2 adapters. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Go to device manager and click on view then 'show hidden devices'. You have something there that BPA is picking up, maybe something that was physically taken out of the machine at some point in time but never uninstalled.

Could also be a Firewire device that Windows sort of sees as a network adapter.

When viewing "hidden devices" in Device Manager I show four adapters. 2 with the actual name of the network cards (Broadcom BCM5708C NetXtreme II GigE) and 2 with almost the same name but with "teefer 2 miniport appended on the end (Broadcom BCM5708C NetXtreme II GigE - Teefer 2 miniport). I have found that the teef 2 driver may be associated with Symantec Endpoint Protection client's firewall. I had thought maybe it was associated with the Endpoint Protection manager and uninstalled that. But I guess I was wrong. I gonna unistall the Endpoint Protection client and see if this helps. I don't need the clients firewall as we have a hardware firewall in front of the SBS box.

Thanks Matt. And I'll agree that Mariette rules the SBS world, but be careful about claiming that I know what I'm doing ;--)
