Hi,

I have a Macbook running OSX 10.5.4, and a SBS 2003 server. The server has a Canon printer on it thats shared. there are no special permissons to the printer other than whats there by default.

Whats the correct procedure to get my Mac to print to it, as at the moment I get a permissions denied error when I try.

Gavin.

Gavin -

I hope you've found a solution to this already. There are several factors that you need to look at for this. If you're still having issues, please post the specific permissions error you're getting as well as the model of the printer and how you've attempted to connect to it from the Mac.

Thanks!

Wow, I just joined today hoping to learn, and I run into a question I can answer!
My company does electronic prepress, postscript rips, and imagers and platesetters and such. Our rip systems are windows, and the workstations are mostly Mac's.

This techref from one of my vendors will guide you thru this somewhat sticky permissions issue.

Until you get thru that, if you open the active printer icon on the mac's taskbar, highlight the print job, tell it to resume, then authenticate when asked, it should go. You may have to do this a few times, and with every print job.
