The 5W/50 briefing two weeks ago said the November date was a "marketing release" data but that the bits would be available as soon as they were ready and were NOT going to be held up until the marketing release.  They didn't give an actual date for either TechNet or MSDN availability.  I'm checking MSDN daily...not that I'm anxious or anything...;-)

Thanks,
Richard

I am checking Technet daily, too

What is strange is that Vista download was available very shortly after RTM and WS2008 was similar.

And yet SBS2008 was no where to be found......

Dont know about Technet but the apparently it will be in the October realase of the Action. I guess Technet/MSDN will follow soon after.

According to this link it will be in the October Update  https://partner.microsoft.com/40013779#ss1
Hope this helps

I've never seen an Action Pack shipment precede MSDN release - MSDN usually is the first source and, to the earlier point, yes, both Vista and WS2008 were posted within days of RTM so this is a bit unusual already.

Actually, it's on MSDN but not for everybody.  The MSDN team at Microsoft are aware there's an issue for several groups of subscribers including, unfortunately for me, the Empower ISV subscribers.  While the listings and details for the five disks are present, the keys and download links remain grayed-out.  They are working on the problem but don't have a timeframe yet for resolution.

As an aside, can anyone figure out the Action Pack strategy they've adopted?  Action Pack subscribers have keys to the Premium Edition of SBS2003 but will only be receiving the Standard Edition of SBS08...notwithstanding the fact they DO have keys for SQL Server 2005 and 2008.  Can anyone think of why, with SQL Server licenses included, MS would have downgraded the SBS2008 version from Premium to Standard?

Thanks,
Richard

Finally!  I took only two MSDN support cases and intervention by the Worldwide Partner Program Empower ISV manager, but the download links have finally, just today, lit up for Empower ISV subscribers!  But before you start the happy dance, the keys haven't lit up for disks 1, 3, or 4 (and aren't needed for disks 2 and 5).

More news as it becomes available...

Thanks,
Richard

Hopefully, this is the final post on this thread!

Working with the Empower Program Manager in Microsoft's Worldwide Partner Programs office, the links and keys for access to SMS2008 are now fully functional and the support team at MSDN/TechNet/Expression are fully up-to-speed that, indeed, Empower ISV subscribers have complete (and early) access to it.

Thanks,
Richard
